Vol. 28 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Workmen's Compensation Regulations.

Domhnall O Muirgheasa

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the reason for the making of the regulation dated 21st February, 1929, under Section 12 of the Workmen's Compensation Act. 1906, revoking the regulations made under that Act dated 8th January, 1927.

The reason was to enable some economy to be secured. The effect of the new regulations is only to provide that the returns regarding workmen's compensation, hitherto collected from private employers in each year, will in future be collected at somewhat longer intervals, which will be frequent enough to yield the information required for statistical purposes. The returns from insurance companies and county registrars will continue to be collected each year.
