Vol. 32 No. 8

Written Answers. - Mayo Old Age Pension Claim.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that Anne Mulligan, of Sweetwell, was awarded an old age pension of 7/- per week by the Swinford Sub-Committee on the 12th September, 1929, and if he is aware that the award has been appealed against and if he will confirm the finding of the sub-committee.

An appeal is at present under consideration in this case against the proposal of the Foxford Pension Sub-Committee to allow a pension of seven shillings a week. The evidence of age so far furnished cannot be regarded as sufficient to warrant the allowance of a pension. I will, however, be prepared to consider any further evidence of age which it may be desired to submit.
