The decision of my Department is directed to securing a necessary uniform standard of qualification for the award of certificates in Irish to teachers, and applies, to all colleges, the principle which has been in operation for some years past in respect of colleges holding summer courses in Irish.
It is open to the colleges to continue to aid in the important service of fitting the teachers for the work of the teaching in and through Irish in the schools, and it is observed that they have continued to do so.
