Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Purchase Price Appeals.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state the total number of appeals against the price fixed by the Land Commissioners for untenanted land decided by the Judicial Commissioner up to 31st March, 1930, the total resulting increase in price and the number and extent of the cases, if any, in which purchase proceedings were discontinued.

Appeals against the price fixed by the Land Commission in proceedings for the acquisition of untenanted land under Section 24 of the Land Act, 1923, in respect of 202 estates were heard and decided by the Judicial Commissioner up to the 31st March, 1930. The total resulting increase in price was £66,167. In two estates proceedings were discontinued, the total increase in price in these cases having been £707.
