Vol. 38 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vesting of Turbary.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he is aware that, under the provisions of Section 21 of the Irish Land Act, 1903, and Section 42 of the Land Act, 1923, over 100 tenants of the Drummond Estate, near Killarney, are entitled to rights of turbary on bogs within the ambit of tenanted holdings on the Drummond Estate; and whether, in view of the fact that two inspectors over two and a half years ago marked the boundaries for each tenant, he will now state the cause of the delay in vesting the turbary; and if compensation will be paid the tenants for cost of turf purchased by them elsewhere.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to his question of 26th November last on this matter, to which I have nothing to add at present.
