asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that dissatisfaction exists amongst farmers and ratepayers, and particularly amongst those at Castledermot, Co. Kildare (who opposed the entire scheme) relative to the River Lerr drainage scheme and the rate struck therefor; whether he has received the report of the sworn inquiry on the scheme which was held recently, and if he is in a position to give any information regarding the inquiry, and whether he will sympathetically consider giving substantial financial help in the matter.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - River Lerr Drainage.
In consequence of complaints made concerning the River Lerr Drainage District, the Commissioners of Public Works caused a public inquiry to be held at Castledermot on the 9th February last. The report of that inquiry is at present under consideration.
Will the Parliamentary Secretary kindly arrange to give me an interview about this matter?
With the greatest possible pleasure.
