Vol. 42 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Headford-Kenmare Railway.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his attention has been called to the report appearing in the Press that the Great Southern Railways Company are considering the question of closing the branch line from Headford Junction to Kenmare, and if he will be prepared to make representations to the Railway Company with a view to having the line kept open.

I am not aware the Great Southern Railways Company are contemplating the closing of their Headford and Kenmare Branch. The Company have applied for an Order, under the Railways (Miscellaneous) Act, 1932, authorising them to reduce the train service on this branch, and the matter is at present under consideration.
