Vol. 47 No. 13

Order of Business.

The Order of Business will be as follows:—No. 1—Motion to sit on Tuesdays until the Adjournment for the Summer Recess; No. 3—Public Services (Temporary Economies) Bill; No. 4—Public Hospitals Bill; No. 2— Financial Motion; No. 5—Foreshore Bill; No. 6—Estimates for Public Services. The Dáil will not sit on Thursday or Friday of this week, and it is proposed not to give any Private Members' time. With the co-operation of all Parties, it is hoped that half of the Public Services (Temporary Economies) Bill will be completed to-day, and the other half to-morrow.

Can the Minister give any indication when Private Members' time will be restored?

I cannot say at present.

Will there ever be Private Members' time again?

Deputy MacDermot wants back the time he gave away to the Government the other day—Private Members' time. I am interested to find out from the Minister when we are likely to reach the motion standing in the name of Deputy Davin and myself, regarding the rates of wages on relief schemes.

A day will be given as soon as possible for that motion. We hope, if at all possible, it will be within the next four weeks.

Is it understood before that motion is considered that the motion in the name of Deputy O'Donovan will be cleared off. If that is so, when do Deputy O'Donovan and his Party intend to proceed with it?

At the earliest possible moment.(Interruption.)

Replies to questions might be left to the Ministers concerned.

Can I take it from the Minister that a definite date will be allocated for my motion within four weeks from this date?

Yes, within four weeks a date will be provided.
