Vol. 59 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Town Tenants' Commission.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he can state if a decision has been taken to implement any or all of the recommendations of the Town Tenants' Commission appointed in January, 1927.

The majority of the recommendations of the Town Tenants' Commission appointed in 1927 have been implemented by the Landlord and Tenant Act, 1931. In so far as the question relates to such of those recommendations as were not implemented by that Act, the answer is in the negative.

Does that mean that the Minister or the Government refuses to consider the advisability of setting up a Fair Rents Court?

It does not mean anything of the kind. It means that a decision has not yet been reached.

Is there any hope that a decision will be reached inside seven years?
