asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of persons normally employed in the building trades (setting out separately the figures for each craft and for builders' labourers) who were registered as unemployed at each of the following dates in 1934, 1935 and 1936, i.e., the first week in January, April, July and October.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment in Building Trades.
In regard to the figures required in respect of the months of January and April in the years 1934, 1935 and 1936, I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a question addressed to me by Deputy Davin on the 16th June, 1936.
A statement showing the total number of persons in the building trade group who were on the live register during the first week of July and October in each of the years 1934 and 1935 and the first week of July, 1936, will be circulated with the official report.
Corresponding figures for the first week of October, 1936, are not yet available.
