Vol. 83 No. 10

Committee on Finance. - Vote 21—Stationery and Printing.

I move:—

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £101,230 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íochta an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1942, chun Tuarastail agus Costaisí Oifig an tSoláthair; chun Páipéarachais, Clódóireachta, Páipéir, Creamuíochta agus Leabhra Clóbhuailte i gcóir na Seirbhíse Puiblic; agus chun Ilsheirbhísí Ilghnéitheacha ar a n-áirmhítear Tuairisc ar Dhíospoireachta an Oireachtás.

That a sum not exceeding £101,230 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending the 31st day of March, 1942, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Stationery Office; for Stationery, Printing, Paper, Binding, and Printed Books for the Public Service; and for sundry Miscellaneous Services, including Reports of Oireachtas Debates.

There is an increase of £3,075 on this Vote, mainly due to an increase in the price of paper and an anticipated decline in the sale of Government publications and revenue forms.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say what is the cause of the delay in the publication of the Irish translation of the New Testament, for which £300 was voted last year, and now re-voted, or whether it is likely to be soon published?

I do not know, but I will communicate the information to the Deputy later.

Vote agreed to.
