Vol. 87 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Butter Production.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the total production of (a) creamery butter, (b) factory butter, in Eire in the years 1939, 1940 and 1941.

The quantity of creamery butter produced during each of the calendar years 1939, 1940 and 1941 was: 1939, 718,279 cwt.; 1940, 657,956 cwt.; 1941, 649,956 cwt.

The quantities of non-creamery butter, to which presumably the Deputy refers, produced in each of the years ending 31st May, 1939 and 1940 are estimated at 452,000 cwt. and 480,000 cwt. respectively. No estimate for the period ending 31st May, 1941, is yet available.
