Vol. 87 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Barrow Drainage Rates.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that civil bills have been issued by the Offaly County Council against a number of individuals for the recovery of Barrow drainage rates, and if, in view of the burden of the present accrued rates and the recommendation made by the Drainage Commission in their report regarding a reduction in the incidence of the charge, he will consider making representations to local authorities concerned with the object of having a stay put to all proceedings pending a decision by the Government on the Drainage Commission recommendations.

I would refer the Deputy to my statement in the Dáil on this subject on 18th June, 1942.
