Vol. 89 No. 1

Written Answers. - Division of Mayo Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the area and valuation of the lands held by the Land Commission in the parish of Bekan which is still undivided; and when such lands will be divided.

It is difficult for the Land Commission to identify lands held in a particular parish. The question does not specify whether the ecclesiastical or the civil parish of Bekan is referred to. So far as can be readily ascertained, the Land Commission have in hands for division in the townland of Tawnagh in the Bekan district four small vacated holdings of migrants, comprising 37a. 3r. Op., and a resumed holding in the townland of Kilknock, comprising 8a. 3r. 20p., making a total of 46a. 2r. 20p. with a total Poor Law Valuation of £20 11s. 0d. Schemes for the division of these lands have not yet been completed and it is not possible at present to state when the lands will be divided.
