Vol. 98 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Restoration of Publicans' Licences.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state if any publicans' licences which were considered redundant and forfeited have since been restored; and, if so, whether the additional charges levied on publicans in such areas to meet compensation will be now remitted.

Mr. Boland

No publican's licence which was abolished under Part IV of the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 1927, has been restored. Sub-section (3) of Section 41 of the 1927 Act provides that, when a licence is abolished under Part IV, a new licence may not be granted at any time after the date of the abolition order in respect of the premises, or any part of the premises, to which the abolished licence was attached.
