Vol. 99 No. 11

Army Pensions Bill, 1946—From the Seanad.

The Dáil went into Committee to consider a recommendation from the Seanad.

I move that the Committee agree with the Seanad in the following recommendation:—

SECTION 5.

In sub-section (2), page 5, line 44, that the word "special" be deleted.

This is purely a drafting amendment necessitated by the fact that the word "special" is entirely superfluous. The term "emergency period pension" without the qualification "special" is used elsewhere in the section and it might cause confusion later in interpreting the Bill if the word "special" were allowed to stand in sub-section (2).

Question agreed to.

Recommendation reported and agreed to.
Ordered that the Seanad be notified accordingly.
