Vol. 105 No. 3

Estimates for Public Services. - In Committee on Finance. Vote 32—Office of the Minister for Justice (Resumed).

Before you put the Vote—this is on a separate point altogether—might I ask the Minister if he heard the reference I made to Communism? He dealt with everything else but the steps to combat Communism.

Mr. Boland

Before I sat down, I said so many questions had been raised that I was not sure I was not missing some of them and that Deputies might stay and remind me of what I was missing. The Deputy did not do that and I concluded. I am not trying to dodge anything and there is plenty of time. I quite admit that there were several things I may have missed, though I spoke for quite a long time from voluminous notes. As far as Deputy Flanagan is concerned, I am not going to deal with that now.

I am going to leave the House, as a protest against the Minister's defence of Communism.

Vote put and agreed to.
