Vol. 105 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Premium for Pedigree Bulls.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will consider increasing to £10 the bonus of £5 at present being paid to holders of licensed pedigree bulls, in order to encourage the keeping of such animals.

No bonus is payable by my Department in respect of pedigree bulls. There is, however, a bonus of £5 payable on certain conditions to holders of non-pedigree licensed bulls. I have considered what action might be taken to secure the purpose the Deputy appears to have in view, but I have not yet reached a conclusion in the matter.
