Vol. 106 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Establishment of Fish-Curing Stations.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will examine the possibility of establishing fish-curing stations at Rosslare and Kilmore Quay, County Wexford, particularly as the opening of such stations would provide much-needed employment for the families of the fishermen of the area.

Fish-curing at the places named would be, as it is at other ports, a matter for the people engaged in this business. I am inclined to the view that if regular landings of suitable fish were being made at Rosslare or Kilmore fish curers would not be slow to examine the prospects of carrying on business there.

All that coast is full of fish and all the men want is a market for it. What the Minister has said is childish talk.
