Vol. 108 No. 11

Committee on Finance. - Superannuation Bill, 1947—Committee and Final Stages.

Sections 1 to 4, inclusive, agreed to.
Question proposed: "That Section 5 stand part of the Bill."

Some of the increases proposed in this Bill have already been paid, but there are other increases which have not yet been paid. I understand the position is that they are under examination in the Department of Finance. Could the Minister indicate when all the payments due under this Bill will be made?

As soon as possible. There must be some snag in the particular payments that are held up.

Will the Minister be able to tell us on the Report Stage?

I can promise the Deputy that there will be no undue delay in connection with this matter.

May we assume that there will be some information within a month?

There will be.

This is a very important Money Resolution and I should like to know if 13 Deputies form a quorum.

The Money Resolution has been passed and we are now on the Committee Stage of the Bill.

But there is no House.

If the Deputy officially draws attention to that fact, we will get a quorum.

Notice taken that 20 Deputies were not present; House counted, and 20 Deputies being present,

Question put and agreed to.
Section 6 and the Title agreed to.
Agreed to take the remaining stages to-day.
Question—"That the Bill be received for final consideration"—agreed to.
Question put: "That the Bill do now pass."
Division challenged.

I should like to know, before I declare tellers, that a sufficient number of Deputies signify their wish to have such a division.

No Deputy rose.

Question declared carried.

This Bill has been certified a Money Bill by the Ceann Comhairle in accordance with Article 22 of the Constitution.
