asked the Minister for Local Government whether any scheme is under consideration in his Department for taking emergency measures to deal with the more extreme cases of overcrowding amongst tenement dwellers in Dublin City, and with particular reference to the plight of T.B. sufferers with families especially of young children at present living in rooms which have been condemned by sanitary inspectors appointed by the Dublin Corporation.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Overcrowding in Tenements.
Mr. Murphy
So far as this matter has a direct bearing on the housing problem in Dublin City the Deputy may be assured that I am giving it my personal attention in the course of my examination of the general position. I am keenly aware of the urgent necessity of rehousing the persons to whom the Deputy refers and meanwhile they may be assured of my sympathy in their present plight.
