Vol. 111 No. 1

Written Answers to Questions. - Importation of Basic Slag.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state the possibilities of importing basic slag during the months ahead for use next winter and spring.

Negotiations are at present in progress with a number of countries for the supply of fertilisers, including basic slag for use next season. Until these negotiations are completed I cannot give details of the exact quantities which will be available. I can state, however, that much larger supplies of both basic slag and superphosphates are likely to be available next season than were distributed in the season just ended.
