Vol. 111 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cavan Urban Council Town Planning Consultant.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) the date of the appointment of the Town Planning Consultant by Cavan Urban Council; (b) the amount of salary and allowances paid to him; and (c) the nature of the work done by him and how long it is likely to continue.

The consultant was appointed on the 12th October, 1943, and so far has received a payment of £100. He has completed a survey of the planning district and contiguous portion of the county health district and has submitted a sketch development plan with explanatory report. He has advised the council on housing and other schemes and on interim control and all other aspects of the exercise of their functions as planning authority. The services of the consultant will be retained until a planning scheme has been completed, but I cannot say how long this is likely to take.
