Vol. 112 No. 11

Written Answer. - Acquisition of Offaly Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission has decided to take over the Ally estate, Knockaroo, Borris-in-Ossory, for division amongst uneconomic holders and others; and, if so, whether these lands will be taken over in the coming winter period and a scheme for division put through in time for the spring of 1949; further, if he will state the acreage and valuation of this estate.

As I informed the Deputy on the 15th of June last, proceedings are being continued in respect of the Ally estate, but it is not yet possible to say whether or when the lands will be available for division. The area of the estate is 174a. 3r. 31p. and the poor law valuation is £121 10s. 0d. (land) and 15/-(buildings).
