Vol. 113 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilkenny County Home.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the unsatisfactory conditions prevailing at the Kilkenny County Home as regards heating and cooking; and if he is now prepared to approve of the proposals made in the report of the county council's consulting engineer submitted to his Department on 11th April, 1947.

I am aware of the unsatisfactory conditions at Kilkenny County Home regarding heating and cooking.

The proposals contained in the report are now being considered sympathetically with the numerous other proposals for hospitals, etc., and a decision will be given as early as possible.

I may add that I have the greatest sympathy with any proposals which will improve the amenities in county homes.
