Vol. 117 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) how many schemes have been submitted to his Department by the Kerry County Council under the proposed Local Authorities (Works) Act; (b) what is the estimated total cost of these schemes; (c) how many have been classified as suitable and (d) what is the estimated total cost of those so classified.

305 schemes have been submitted by the Kerry County Council at an estimated cost of £55,341. The schemes which were received on the 16th of the present month are being examined in the Department.

asked the Minister for Local Government (i) if the county engineer for Kerry has submitted to his Department a list of works to be executed under the proposed Local Authorities (Works) Act in the Killarney and Killorglin electoral divisions (South Kerry) and (ii) if he will give a list of such works in order of priority.

The schemes submitted by the Kerry County Council are divided according to the districts of the council's assistant engineers and an order of priority is suggested by the council in regard to each such division. It is not possible, therefore, to give the information sought by the Deputy in the form in which it is asked for in the question. If it suits the Deputy I shall arrange for him to inspect the lists in the Department.
