Vol. 118 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Chicken Supply Scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will accede to the request of the County Cork Committee of Agriculture to extend the scheme for the supply of pure-bred day-old chicks at a reduced price to the poorer Gaeltacht areas in County Cork on the same lines as the scheme in operation in Connemara and certain Gaeltacht areas in Counties Donegal and Kerry.

The County Cork Committee of Agriculture has already been informed that the question of extending this scheme next year to the Cork Gaeltacht will be fully considered. It would not be practicable to extend the scheme this year beyond the areas of operation already fixed.
