Vol. 119 No. 3

Private Notice Question. - Stoppage of Dublin Buses.

Mr. Byrne

I ask your permission to raise as a matter of importance the following question:

To ask the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of the serious inconvenience caused to the bus users in the North East Dublin District, he will state what proposals, if any, are being made for the settlement of the dispute which brought about the stoppage of buses in the Clontarf district.

In view of the fact that this matter is to-day the subject of discussion between the Labour Court and the parties concerned I think it would not be desirable that I should make any comment.

Let the Minister for Local Government and the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs settle the matter between themselves.

Mr. Byrne

Why did not the Labour Court interfere——

The Minister has stated that he cannot make a statement on the matter.

Mr. Byrne

I am not asking him to make a statement. I am asking him why the Labour Court did not interfere before the stoppage took place.

Ask Deputy Lemass.

That is a different question.
