Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Sligo Congests.

asked the Minister for Lands whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Mr. John Brennan, Coolrawer, Charlestown, County Sligo (now residing at Charlestown, County Mayo), for the purpose of distribution among the congests in this area.

Proceedings are in progress for the acquisition of these lands, but it is not possible to state what the outcome will be.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the number of congests (a) who obtained additional lands in County Sligo in the years 1948 and 1949; and (b) who migrated from the county during the same periods and the names of the counties in which they obtained land.

(a) The numbers are:— 1948-49, 40; 1949-50, 58. (b) nil for both periods.
