Vol. 121 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Definition of Turbary Rights.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that Mr. Michael Carey, serial number 5.6.2873, collection number C.D.B. 3/922/Cork, Leigh-White estate of Adrigole, County Cork, despite protracted correspondence, has tried unsuccessfully to have his right to turbary defined by the Land Commission; and, if so, whether he will arrange to have it so defined.

The rights of turbary in question were defined and vested in Mr. Carey. He was shown the boundaries of the plots over which he exercises the rights and it is open to him to obtain a map of the plots by applying to the Land Commission and paying the prescribed fees.

Can the Minister say on what date he was shown the boundaries?

I think on 16-4-48, but I will get definite information for the Deputy.
