asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) the number of families living in tenement houses in (i) Dublin City, and (ii) Cork City, and (b) the number of families living in one room in each of these cities on the latest date for which figures are available.

The surveys from which the figures are taken were made for Dublin in 1938 and for Cork in 1944.
