Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civic Administration Costs.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the cost of the civic administration (a) of the Borough of Dún Laoghaire, and (b) of the Dublin County Council and, further, the charge on the rates necessary for maintaining these services.

The estimates adopted by Dublin County Council for the year 1950-51 provide for a total gross expenditure of £1,026,072. The amount of rates to be levied in the county health district is £547,256, in respect of which a sum of £100,000 approximately is payable by way of agricultural grant.

The estimates adopted by Dún Laoghaire Borough Council for the year 1950-51 provide for a total gross expenditure of £439,698, including £90,185 in respect of the county council demand. The amount of rates to be levied in the borough area is £284,310.
