Vol. 123 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Traffic and Parking Facilities.

asked the Minister for Justice if he has received any comprehensive report for the improvement in the control of traffic and parking facilities in Dublin City; and, if not, whether he proposes to request a conjoint report from the Garda Síochána and the Dublin City Council in the matter.

The answer to each part of the question is in the negative.

I have no responsibility for traffic control. Under the Road Traffic Act, 1933, by-laws for the control of traffic and the regulation of parking are made by the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána, with the consent of the Minister for Local Government, after consultation with the local authorities for the areas concerned.
