Vol. 123 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Special Trade Mark.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will institute a special trade mark which would be available to manufacturers whose products reach a desirable standard.

By Section 22 (1) of the Industrial Research and Standards Act, 1946, it is provided that the Minister for Industry and Commerce may by Order prescribe a mark for use in connection with a specified commodity, process or practice to indicate that it conforms to a particular standard specification. The selection of a design for a standard mark has been under consideration for some time past and it is hoped that the matter will be brought to a conclusion in the near future.
