Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Harbour Development.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what schemes for harbour development were approved by him in the 12 months preceding 21st April, 1950.

The schemes for harbour development approved in the period in question were:—

1. A scheme for dredging and for the repair and replacement of buoys and beacons at Dundalk Harbour.

2. A scheme for the completion of the western entrance to the dock at Limerick and for closing the eastern entrance, deepening the old dock and dredging the river.

In addition, surveys at State expense were authorised at Sligo, Wicklow and Wexford Harbours to ascertain the cost of the minimum works necessary at these harbours.
