Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Counterpart Fund and Dollar Debt.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (1) the value of the assets in the American Loan Counterpart Fund, and (2) the value in Irish currency calculated at present rates of exchange, of the American dollar debt, at 31st December, 1950.

The assets held, in the American Loan Counterpart Fund and on deposit with the Central Bank, against U.S. dollar indebtedness amounted, at 31st December, 1950, to £37,022,470. On the same date, the equivalent in Irish currency, at the present rate of exchange, of the American dollar debt was £42,125,949.
