Vol. 126 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk Price Increase.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will indicate when his Government proposes to grant the 4d. per gallon increase in the price of milk as promised during the recent general election campaign.

Mr. Walsh

I have already announced the extent of the increases in the price of milk which the Government is prepared to authorise in present circumstances. I may say that I am satisfied that these new prices are sufficient to provide a remunerative return to milk producers.

Deputy Corry is not satisfied.

Is the Minister aware that the recent increase is in direct contravention of the promises made by Fianna Fáil in the merry month of May in Dublin, Cork, Dun-dalk and Drogheda?
