Vol. 128 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Orders for Ground Lime.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the complaints made by farmers to the committee for agriculture that they have to wait eight or nine months for their orders for ground lime, he will consider the erection of a crushing plant in the North Tipperary area.

Mr. Walsh

As the Deputy is aware, the erection of limestone grinding plant is a matter for private enterprise and I have, therefore, no function in deciding where plants should be located. No complaints of abnormal delays in the delivery of ground limestone have been received in my Department from farmers in the North Tipperary area.

With your permission, Sir, I propose to raise on the Adjournment the subject matter of Question No. 29.

That will be considered and the Deputy will be notified.
