Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Westmeath and Longford Holdings.

asked the Taoiseach whether he can state how many holdings (i) between ten and 15 acres, (ii) between five and ten acres and (iii)less than five acres there are in County Westmeath and in County Longford.

There were 522 holdings above ten and not exceeding 15 statute acres; 573 holdings above five and not exceeding ten statute acres, and 2,790 holdings not exceeding five statute acres in County Westmeath on 1st June, 1952, which is the latest date for which these statistics are available. The corresponding numbers of holdings in County Longford on that date were 784, 574 and 1,509 respectively.
