I am informed by the Agricultural Credit Corporation that (a) the total number of applications for loans in the year ended 30th April, 1953, was 1,704, of which 837 were approved and 602 issued, (b) the total amount of loans issued was £244,250, and (c) the rate of interest charged was 6 per cent. The figures do not take account of loans under schemes of the Department of Agriculture.
