Vol. 143 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Loughrea Factory.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when a manufacturing company proposes to start building operations on the new factory premises at Loughrea and if he will indicate the amount of assistance by way of grant, etc., which is being given by An Foras Tionscal.

Mr. Lynch

As regards the first part of the Deputy's question, I understand that every effort is being made to expedite the erection of this factory by the manufacturing company concerned, which is, of course, a private commercial undertaking.

As regards the second part of the question, I would refer the Deputy to a reply which was given to a similar question on 30th July, 1953.

May I suggest to the Parliamentary Secretary and to Deputy Lahiffe that they should give the undertaking a chocolate biscuit to see if that would stimulate their activity?
