The best qualified candidate was appointed. It is not the practice to furnish information regarding the qualifications of the successful applicants for sub-postmasterships as it would be difficult to do so without disclosing information obtained in confidence either from or concerning the applicants.
There was some difficulty in securing a satisfactory candidate with suitable premises. The present premises are temporary pending the erection of a new building by the appointee but are regarded as reasonably suitable for the time being.
