Vol. 147 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Telephone Calls.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state the number of trunk calls and local calls originating in Dublin for the first nine months of (i) 1953, and (ii) 1954.

Figures are not available in the precise form requested by the Deputy, but the following figures will perhaps meet requirements:—

NUMBER OF TRUNK CALLS CONTROLLED AT DUBLIN:

Jan.—Sept., 1953

Jan.—Sept., 1954

2,192,000

2,413,000

NUMBER OF LOCAL CALLS AT DUBLIN AND OTHER AUTOMATIC EXCHANGES:

Jan.—Sept., 1953

Jan.—Sept., 1954

52,155,000

53,208,000

(estimated)
