The Deputy's suggestion was tried out experimentally some years ago on six bus routes between Dublin and provincial termini. The experiment was a failure from every point of view. The public showed little interest in the facility and it created various difficulties for the Department and the transport authority. In the circumstances further experiment would not be warranted.
