Vol. 147 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Corporation Flats.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state when it is expected that the Dublin Corporation flats at Rialto, South Circular Road, will be ready for occupation; further, if he will ascertain from the corporation whether, in the allocation of these flats, any priority will be given to persons residing in the neighbouring vicinity, who have been rated by the corporation as homeless.

I understand from the Dublin Corporation that these flats are expected to be ready for occupation early in the new year.

The flats are primarily intended to accommodate persons displaced from clearance areas and unfit houses, but I understand that the corporation intend, subject to the provisions of the relevant statutory regulations, to consider also the claims of families from the neighbouring district who are listed as homeless.
