Vol. 149 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Road Repairs.

asked the Minister for finance whether he is aware of the necessity of repairing and extending accommodation and bog roads in the parishes of Filemore, Dromid, Ballins-kelligs, Portmagee and Caherciveen to enable turf producers to supply the electricity generating station at Caherciveen, and, if so, if he will allocate special grants for the purpose.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply given to his question on the 15th December, 1954, in connection with this matter. It is the intention that financial assistance for the improvement of bog roads serving the generating station in question will be made available, if needed, and the extent to which such provision will, in due course, require to be made is receiving consideration.
