Vol. 150 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Road Repair.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he has received proposals for the repair of the tourist road from Kells Cross, Kells, to Kells Strand, County Kerry, and, if so, if he will allocate a grant under the tourist road grant scheme for the purpose.

Proposals of the Kerry County Council for expenditure of the tourist road grant for 1955-56 do not include proposals in respect of the road in question.

In view of the fact that this is a tourist centre and is not included in the programme of work, will the Minister review that position to see if any grant can be made from the money already allocated? As I say, it is in the tourist area, and it has not been included in the county engineer's report. If the Minister or the Department could review the position so that it could qualify——

The Deputy is making a speech.

The Minister has nothing to review or consider because there is no proposal in respect of that particular road from the Kerry County Council. I am sure he will consider it if it is put up.

It is in the five-year plan but it is not included in that programme.
