Vol. 150 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cashen Net Fishermen.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if the investigation at present being carried out by his Department concerning the case recently made by the Cashen net fishermen, County Kerry, will lead to the holding of a local inquiry into their grievances as desired by them.

The purpose of the investigation referred to by the Deputy is to gather certain basic information regarding the runs of salmon in the Feale-Cashen river system. When this investigation is completed and the results studied a decision will be made as to the holding of a public inquiry in relation to the application by the net fishermen for a change in the close season regulations.
