asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will make a statement on the position regarding car radio licences arising out of the recent decision of the High Court in the matter.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Car Radio Licences.
The decision of the High Court in the case referred to by the Deputy was that the District Justice was wrong in law in not convicting a person who had been charged with having an unlicensed radio set in his car at a particular place. Two of the judges also expressed certain opinions, the implications of which are being examined by my legal advisers. I am not in a position to make any further statement in the matter at this stage, but I shall do so at the earliest opportunity.
