An offer of a grant from the Employment and Emergency Schemes Vote towards the cost of this proposal was made to the Mayo County Council on the 2nd March, 1957. The offer was subject to the usual conditions attached to grants of this nature, viz., that the county council would contribute portion of the cost and would accept responsibility for the future maintenance of the work, when completed.
The county council have not as yet replied to the offer. I am not, there-fore, in a position to say when the work will be put in hands.
